Dreams FC’s chairman Kurt E.S Okraku has purchased 3000 tickets as his contribution towards the successful organization of the inaugural J.A Kufour Cup match.
The game will be played on Sunday between regional rivals Asante Kotoko and AshantiGold is to honour former President John Agyekum Kufour.
Proceeds from this game will be used to compliment other efforts of raising an audacious Ghc 80m to be used for various charity projects of ‘The John A. Kufour Foundation’.
The Dreams FC chairman in recognizing the immense contribution of the former Ghanaian head of state during his tenure between 2001 and 2009 has purchased 3000 tickets to be distributed free of charge to football loving fans for the game on Sunday.
“Having made enormous contributions to the football industry as President of Ghana between 2001 to 2009, we deem it necessary to be actively involved in activities geared towards honouring H.E John Agyekum Kufour,” a Dreams FC release signed by the Executive Chairman read.
“As such, Executive Chairman of Dreams Football Club, Kurt E.S Okraku has purchased three thousand (3000) tickets to be distributed to football loving fans for the J.A Kufour Cup match as his personal contribution towards the successful organization of this historic event.”
Former President Kufour is widely credited for his immense role in ensuring the Ghana FA secured the funds required in helping the Black Stars make its first senior World Cup appearance in 2006.
He also oversaw the successful hosting of the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations.
