The former Leeds United striker who used to own Yegola FC was very critical of the Ghana Football Association.
Former Black Stars striker Tony Yeboah has stated he feels vindicated after Anas Aremyaw Anas football corruption investigative video.
The former Yegola FC owner dissolved the club citing poor officiating and corrupt referees as the main reasons.
Meanwhile Yegola, as he is popularly known , claims that it will take about ten years to return to the glory days of Ghana football.
” I used to play football before i started administration. So when things are not going well and some of us voice out people should take it serious.” He told Angel FM.
“When we talk they always ask us for evidence thank God Anas has shown us what is going on. This was what we were all speaking and fighting against ” He added.
Tony Yeboah also calls on the club owners to stop paying bribes to the referees or else Anas expose will no longer be relevant.
” If we want to see changes in our game, then club administrators should desist from paying bribes to referees. Could you imagine clubs planning their seasonal budget by factoring monies to be paid to referees during the season. Its very bad.” the former striker lamented.
“You can’t prepare for the whole week and travel to Tamale for match only for the referees to cheat you for the home team.”
“My team were sometimes chased with a machetes on the pitch at a certain league centers .The clubs should sack the referees whenever the referees contact them”
