Hearts of Oak are withdrawing from theĀ J.A Kuffour 80th anniversary Cup according to media reports.
The game is slated for 24 October 2018 in Kumasi.
According to Atinka FM the Cup organizers proposed GHC30,000 each for Hearts and Kotoko as appearance fee but there was a rejection .
Club managing director Mark Noonan reportedly met the leadership of Accra Hearts of Oak supporters group.
Chairman of the Chapters, Mr Barima Atuahene couldn’t attend the meeting but he was fully represented by his 1st Vice, Mr Agyare, Greater Accra Chapters chairman SHAMO and Hearts Ladies president madam Vincentia Doku.
When FootballmadeinGhana.com reached the supporters chief, Barima Atuahene for a word he said :
” I don’t know where this story is coming from. I have not even been in Accra for the past five days. I don’t know anything about this meeting.” Atuahene told this website.
Another board member Alhaji Akambi also expressed surprise.
“I don’t know what you are talking about. I’m hearing this news that we’ve pulled out of the Kuffour Cup for the first time from.” Akambi told FootballmadeinGhana.com
