Black Satellite skipper Issahaku Konda has stressed that Ghana cannot afford to miss the 2019 Africa Youth Championship in Niger next year.
His assertions came after Ghana came back from a goal down to beat their Beninois counterpart by three goals to one in the first leg of the Qualifiers at Cape Coast.
Speaking to the media after the game , the Wa All stars defender who scored one of the goals lauded his teammates and also insisted the team cannot afford to fail this time around.
“It was a very tough game for us despite the scoreline, with the help of the coaches we won the game to make things a bit easier for us in the 2nd leg.”Konda emphasized.
“We did not know their strength initially, but now we know what we are up against and the coaches will know what to go through with us at training so that we can record a good result in Benin in the 2nd leg.“
He added: “Like I keep saying in all my interviews, we can’t afford to miss out on the competition again so have to do our best in Benin to get a good result that will see our progression to the next stage of the qualifiers. “
The second leg is schedule to come off on 10th August 2018 at Cotonou.
