While everything seems to be going well for the junior national team of Benin so far in the qualification stage of the 2019 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations the team of coach Valère Houandjinou is likely to face Ghana without their leading marksman Samson Akinyoola.
Akinyoola , the scorer of a brace against Gambia in the previous round did not make the trip to Ghana ahead of Saturday’s encounter and according to reports in the Benin media the reason why the 36 Lion Football Club striker didn’t travel is still unknown as the Benin FA hasn’t given any reasons.
Meanwhile Ghana will also be without both goalscorers of the last Algeria game in the names of Sadiq Ibrahim and Mohammed Qudus as well as Saliw Babawo.
It should be remembered that South Africa, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Burundi and Mali have already snatched their ticket for the final phase of this competition which will take place in Niger in 2019.
