Ghana youth international Abdul Khalid Basit is glad having won the Kosovo cup with FC Prishtina.
The bulldozing forward returned from injury to net in the 25th minute in the prestigious cup final as his side secured another Europa League qualification after defeating Vellaznimi on penalties.
Basit revealed that he was happy with the cup triumph as it has not been an easy journey this campaign.
“It was a good final for me particularly as it has been a bit difficult, I had battles with injuries this season and I am excited I returned to lead my side to win the Cup,” Basit told footballmadeinghana.com
“Vellaznimi struggled in the league and we also lost the top spot to Drita so each side needed a win to book a place in the Europa League and we did it in grand style. This is my second trophy in Kosovo and I am pleased with it,”
The former Dreams FC attacker also stressed that he is looking forward to next season’s Europa League as he seeks to go far with his club.
“Last season we were eliminated in the first round by Swedish champions Norrkoping but this coming season we want to go as far as we can”
“I believe we have good materials and we cause some upsets in the competition as we are gradually gaining experience in it,”
Aside Basit, FC Prishtina also have former Dreams FC duo of skipper Abdul Basit and central defender Ben Nash Quansah as well as ex-MTN Soccer Academy winner Arago Jamal.
