Ghana Black Stars defender Rashid Sumaila has joined Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade on loan.

The 25-year-old centre back signed the dotted lines on Thursday after having his medicals in a private hospital in Belgrade.

Sumaila who was acquired from Kuwaiti giants Al Qadsiya is filling the void left by fellow Ghanaian Abraham Akwasi Frimpong who moved to Hungarian elite side Ferencvarosi.

The efficient centre back will be very useful for Red Star who are eyeing a Uefa Champions League Group Stage berth and also to retain their domestic title.
