Coach Otto Addo has thanked the Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku for giving him the opportunity to coach the senior national team the Black Stars.
The Borussia Dortmund chief scout took over from Coach Milovan Rajevac after Ghana’s disastrous AFCON campaign in Cameroon which later caused the Serbian trainer’s job.
After assuming office, Otto Addo help Ghana to secured her fourth FIFA World Cup ticket which comes off this year in November in Qatar.
Addo guided Ghana to eliminate Nigeria in a two legged game via away goal rule 1-1 on aggregate to book it’s place in the mundial.
After the game on Tuesday evening the experienced trainer seized the opportunity to thank Kurt Okraku for putting his faith in him.
“Thank you to Kurt Okraku for giving me this opportunity. Also to the backroom, who are always supporting me. Milovan Rajevac and C.K Akonnor all belong to this [qualifying to the WC] We did this together and for the players who are not here.”
Ghana will make a return to the World Cup after missing out in the 2018 edition in Russia.
