Goal scoring has been a major problem for the Ghana senior national team in recent years as most of our strikers often tend to fire blank in key moments.

Mostly, the argument has been whether the right materials are called or whether is a general lack of ideas at the final end of the field by our front men.

As Ghana regroup again under Kwesi Appiah to see if they could grab the sole ticket from Group E to the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Sports writer Edmund Okai Gyimah presents five of Ghana’s best finishers outside who can make this dream a reality.

1. Raphael Dwamena (FC Zurich 30 Goals in 37 Games)

Dwamena is in the form of his life, the former Redbull Ghana and Liefering Striker has been netting goals for fun, he started the current season at Austrian side Lusteneau before being signed by Swiss side FC Zurich. The 21-year-old is not only a finisher but he is also a provider as he has assisted 11 goals so far this campaign.

2. Lawson Bekui (Al Dhofar 16 goals in 23 Games)

The former Dreams FC Striker is the live wire of Omani Premier League leaders Al Dhofar. The 22-year-old forward has netted 11 goals in 18 league games whilst he has also scored 5 in five Sultan Cup games taken his total tally for the season to 16.

The speedy striker has netted headers, free kicks, left foot strikes as well as right foot strikes and has provided eight assists in all competitions. Bekui is also gunning for the Omani League player of the season award.

3.Godsway Donyoh (FC Nordsjaelland 10 goals in 28 Games)

The former Manchester City youngster has lighted the Danish League with some superb outputs and goals this current season for FC Nordsjaelland.

Donyoh has netted 10 goals and provided five assists in 28 appearances this season which is his highest ever as a professional footballer.

The 22-year-old boast of a fantastic left foot, pace, ability to dribble and above all an eye for the killer strike. He has also provided five assists so far.

4. Abdul Majeed Waris (FC Lorient 10 goals in 35 Games)

Waris has been very consistent in Europe when it comes to goal scoring, the striker has reached the 10-goal tally mark always since his move to Lorient from Trabzonspor two seasons ago.

The dimunitive striker has been the brightest spot in a poor Lorient team who are on their way to the French Ligue 2.

The striker has provided four assists also and is in line for a summer move from Lorient.

5. John Antwi (Al Mekasa 7 goals in 16 Games)

When it comes to goalscoring in the Egyptian League, John Antwi always stands out tall. The talented attacker has been a dominant force and has been netting goals consistently in the North African League since 2012.

Antwi joined Al Mekasa from Al Ahly on loan and has been able to propel them to second place on the league log with 7 goals and two assists in just 16 games.
