Finnish side SJK Academy have confirmed the signing of Ghanaian defender Terry Yegbe.
The 21-year-old defender joins on a one-year loan agreement from Ghana Division One League side Vision FC.
Yegbe, who gave evidence in the ranks of the SJK Academy during the winter, will move to Seinäjoki from Vision FC in Ghana and SJK will have the opportunity to make the loan transfer permanent later.
“I’m really excited, and at the same time this is a bit exciting, because this is my first time in Europe , says Terry Yegbe.
” This is a really big opportunity for me, and I’ll do my best. There are already a couple of Ghanaian players here who have helped with the adjustment, and by the way, I’ve already gotten to know my teammates, says Yegbe.
Terry Yegbe, born in Akatsi on January 25, 2001 in the Volta region of Ghana, is a Central Defender and has a length of 195 cents. Yegbe has started football at his hometown of Kickers FC, but has moved from there to the Ghanaian main league club West African Football Academy, which is from the same area as Sogakope. From WAFA, he later moved to the ranks of Vision FC for the period 2020-2021.
Coming from Accra, the capital of Ghana, Vision FC acts as a breeding club for promising young players, while playing at Ghana’s second-highest league.
“Terry has been fantastic since he came here. We are very excited about attaching him. He is big and powerful, Left-footed Central Defender, says SJK Academy coach Brian Page.
“Although Terry’s physical qualities are his greatest strengths, he is also technically very talented. He takes the ball softly and pushes it forward very well. In addition, he is able to deceive opponents out. However, he still has room for improvement. His tactical side still needs work, but once he’s adapted to our team, and learned how to play, we believe he’s going to develop into a very good player.
“Once again, a good attachment to our team, and Terry’s arrival will further strengthen our group. We believe he will be able to break into the team first and will be a confirmation for us this season.
