Nigeria coach Emmanuel Amunike is very optimistic his team, the Super Eagles will beat Ghana to secure one of the tickets for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The two neighbors were drawn against each other last month and will have to slug it out to decide who goes to Qatar later this year.
Nigeria and Ghana endured disappointing AFCON campaigns and will look to provide their fans with something to cheer about – most importantly a place at the World Cup.
Amunike, who was appointed as coach of the Super Eagles after the Nations Cup, is optimistic his team will make it to Qatar.
“I have worked with some of the players in the U17 and U20 teams, and some others I have known for many years.” – Amunike said
“We have the team to earn the World Cup ticket and we will put our best foot forward for each game,” he added during a zoom meeting with the players and the Sports Ministry.
Ghana hosts Nigeria on March 24 before traveling to Abuja for the second leg three days later.
