Leicester City defender Daniel Amartey joined the Black Stars training session for the first time today following his arrival at the team’s base in Doha.
The Black Stars are getting in shape for the TotalEnergies African Cup of Nations which will be staged in Cameroon. The team will be heading into the tournament with the sole aim of ending the 40-year wait for an AFCON trophy.
Coach Milovan Rajevac’s preparations for the tourney have been given a major boost as stalwart defender Daniel Amartey joined the team’s training session today.
Amartey who has been in phenomenal form for Leicester City in the Premier League this season will be key for the Black Stars as they intend to win their first AFCON trophy in 40-years.
The Black Stars will open their AFCON campaign on Monday against the Atlas Lions of Morocco in Yaounde.
