Former GFA Vice-President, George Afriyie, has stated Head Coach of the Black Stars, Milovan Rajevac has chosen the perfect squad for next year’s African Cup of Nations to be held in Cameroon
The Serbian Coach named a 30-man squad that will be heading out to Doha to prepare for the 2021 TotalEnergies African Cup of Nations which will commence on January 9th.
Milovan Rajevac will trim the squad list down to 28 in line with CAF’s regulations for the tournament and Former GFA Veep, George Afriyie believes the players called up are the perfect fit to challenge for the trophy in Cameroon next year.
“I have known especially David Abagna from Wa All Stars to Ashgold and now to RTU and with the inclusion of Maxwell Abbey-Quaye and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, it makes the squad perfect,” – George Afriyie told Asempa FM.
“We don’t have enough and for me, Milovan Rajevac has given us a perfect squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [Afcon].” – He added.
The Black Stars will begin camping today, December 22, 2021, in Doha, Qatar for a 17-day training camp in preparation for the Cup of Nations which kicks off on Sunday, January 09, 2022.
