AshantiGold SC have moved top of the Ghana Premier League table after drawing at home to Karela United.
Fresh after winning their first game of the season, The Miners welcomed the Pride of Nzema to Obuasi for this Match Week 2 fixture on Saturday.
The visitors who drew their opening game also approached the encounter hoping to replicate last season’s results at the Len Clay Stadium.
With both coaches naming a much stronger side, it was Karela United who drew first blood. Humid Dafie fetched his side a goal after 35 minutes.
The home side responded 4 minutes later when striker Isaac Opoku Agyemang restored parity from the spot.
With the first half ending 1-1, the second installment of the game failed to add to the goals as the game finished with both teams level.
The result will be seen as disappointing for the home side, while Karela United will travel back to Nzema more content.
AshantiGold SC now have 4 points from their first two games as they move top of the table.
Karela have two points from their opening games played and are left still searching for a first league win under new coach Bismark Mensah.
