The 2021-22 Ghana Premier League campaign gets underway at Accra Sports Stadium on Friday night.
Newly promoted Accra Lions play hosts to Elmina Sharks in a mouthwatering season opener.
The Zone Three Champions who finished third in the just ended Division One League Super Cup will test their strength against a Sharks team led by Ghana legend coach Nii Odartey Lamptey.
Coach of Accra Lions Rainer Kraft will make his Premier League bow with the likes of Osman Kasim, Rauf Salifu, Fawzan Dandawa, Joseph Addo Tetteh and Hagan Frimpong looking ahead to a bright start to life in the Ghanaian top flight.
Lions have had a decent pre-season campaign having beaten reigning champions Hearts of Oak 3-2 in a friendly match.
Meanwhile Sharks will be aiming to improve on their performances last season after securing Premier League survival following a 1-0 win over Asante Kotoko on the final day at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
The Elmina-based outfit have had a busy off-season with the acquisition of wingers Dominic Eshun and Michelle Sarpong from Hearts of Oak.
They have also bolstered their defense with the signing of James Sewonou also from the Phobians.
Experienced midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei is also on the books of the club this season.
The match day one encounter is scheduled for 6pm kick off and will be live on StarTimes.
