Following the sack of Charles Kwabla Akonoor as the Black Stars coach, former Western Region Football Association chairman, Kojo Yankah tips former Asante Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani to be his successor.
Akonnor and his two assistants, David Duncan and Patrick Grevaraars were booted out from their responsibilities on Monday after a meeting by the Ghana Football Association’s Executive Council.
The former Asante Kotoko coach was appointed twenty months ago as the Black Stars Coach after the GFA decided against renewing the contract of Kwesi Appiah.
He managed five wins , two draws and lost four matches from the eleven games he managed as Black Stars gaffer.
The sacking of Akonnor comes after Black Stars abysmal outing in the ongoing FIFA World Qualifiers winning 1-0 against Ethiopia in Ghana before a 1-0 defeat to South Africa in Johannesburg.
However the former Ghana Football Association EXCO Member in an interview with Asempa FM opined that he will placed his bet on Didi Dramani to be a good option for the vacant position.
“If I’m told to choose one I would choose Didi (Dramani). Didi is someone who does a lot of listening when he is coaching and anyone who listen does a good job. He listen and blend it with his, that is Didi for you and he is very humble, very humble guy. So I think Didi can do it.”
As at today, about fifty (50) coaches have applied for the vacant position after the sack of CK Akonor on Monday.
A new manager for the Black Stars is set to be announced before the closure of the week.
