Division One League side Samartex have appointed “promotion expert” Kobinah Amissah as the head coach of the club.

Amissah who has carved for himself a niche of promoting sides from the lower tier to the premier league joins the Timber Giants on a two-year deal.

Amissah engraved his name in the country’s football folklore after qualifying a fourth club- Bibiani Gold Stars- to the country’s top-flight last season having done it on three previous occasions.

Amissah was at the helm of affairs when Berekum Chelsea gained promotion in 2008, Sekondi Hasaacas in 2011 & Elmina Sharks in  2015.

Amissah replaces Bismark Kobby Mensah who has signed for Ghana Premier League Karela United.

Samartex finished third in Zone II of the Division One League.
