Benjamin Afutu has been included in Accra Hearts of Oak’s CAF Champions League squad to play in the competition, FMIG can confirm.
Negotiations to renew Afutu’s expiring deal have been deadlocked for over a year, but the situation did not deter Head Coach Samuel Boadu from including him in his 36-man squad for the qualifying stage of the competition.
His inclusion gives hint that the club has not given up in their attempts to renew the player’s contract.
Aside Afutu’s Hearts’ squad is dominated by the squad that won the league and cup double in the just ended season while there are spots for some new boys.
Recently recruited players, Gladson Awako, Enoch Asubonteng, Isaac Agyenim Boateng, Kofi Kordzi, Suraj Seidu and Salim Adams were also included.
