Legendary Ghanaian striker Asamoah wants the Black Stars to get a good draw tonight during the Group Stage pairings process for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
The Black Stars are housed in Pot 2 of the draw alongside Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Mali, Burkina Faso, and Guinea.
The draw will take place at the Yaounde Conference Centre, Cameroon at 6 p.m. GMT on Tuesday August 17.
Gyan is in Cameroon as a special guest for the draw ceremony and he has been speaking to CAFonline.com about his expectations.
“We’re hoping for a good draw for Ghana with an affordable group, because everyone wants to go through the first round and continue the adventure. All I can say is I wish Ghana the best of luck in the draw. Ghana is a country of football, with many talents. We have a team of young people who play well in their clubs. It’s a rebuilding team with a new coach,” Gyan said.
With 51 goals for the Black Stars, Gyan is Ghana’s all-time top scorer.
Ghana is making an appearance at the 33rd edition of Africa’s flagship tournament and will be keen on winning their first title since 1982.
The final tournament of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations, Cameroon 2021 will take place from January 9 to February 6, 2022.
