Ghana left-back Gideon Mensah is inching closer to a loan move to French Ligue 1 outfit Bordeaux.

Widespread reports are claiming negotiations between the defender’s club and the French club are at advanced stages with the player set to join on loan with the option of buying at the end of the season.

Mensah returned to parent club Red Bull Salzburg after a successful loan spell at Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes.

The Portuguese side were unable to make Mensah’s deal permanent as they were unable to meet the demands of Red Bull Salzburg.

Mensah is expected to travel to France in the coming days to finalize the move to Bordeaux.

It will be his third loan spell since joining the Austrian giants after stints at Zulte Waregem and Vitoria Guimaraes.
