Angola based Ghanaian midfielder Isaac Mensah has donated to boyhood club following a successful season with Petro de Luanda.
The winger presented a set of jerseys, bottled mineral water, beeps and an undisclosed cash to his colts club Deportivo FC at the club’s training grounds in Ashaiman on Friday afternoon.
Mensah started his football career at the Ashaiman based club before joining the youth system of Hearts (Auroras) and went on to earn a place in the first team in 2012.
Isaac spent five years with the 2021 Ghana Premier League Champions before joining Petro on a free transfer in 2018.
He also had a short spell with Al Ittihad in Egypt.
Speaking to Sportafric, the swift winger was full of praise and attributed his rise to the club.
” Well I think it’s an obligation for me as a former player to show some nice gestures to Deportivo because i owe them a lot.
They were basically my stepping stone to the level I’ve reached.
So it’s an honor to do this to show my appreciation and also to encourage them to work hard”, he said.
Isaac helped Petro de Luanda clinch the 2020/21 Girabola, contributing to 4 goals, scoring 2 and assisting twice in 10 appearances for Petro de Luanda.
