The Ghanaian football family was greeted with the sad news of the death Alhassan Seidu, president and owner of Parma FC, a juvenile club in Kumasi.
Seidu, who is famously known in football circles in Kumasi as Boozin was also the local manager of TSG Hoffenheim and Ghana defender Kassim Nuhu.
Believed to be in his late 30s, Boozin was reported dead on Thursday morning at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
Sources close to the family have reported that the young man only complained of feverishness the night before only to be announced dead the next day.
According to a close friend, Boozin complained of feverishness and dizziness, complaining he suspects malaria on Wednesday night.
He was rushed to the hospital around 2am on Thursday and passed on around 4am.
He has since been buried in Kumasi per Islamic custom.
He is responsible for nurturing several top talents in Kumasi who have risen to become international stars including Kassim Adam, Ahmed Adam, Kevin Ofori and Baba Iddrisu.
