An enraptured Vincent Sowah Odotei board member of Accra Hearts of Oak says the club’s latest Ghana Premier League title win, is proof of where exactly the club belongs in Ghana Football.
The Phobians after an unimpressive start to the 2020-21 GPL season, had a superb second round to topple teams above them and secure the league title with a game to spare.
This is Hearts’ first League title in eleven years and was made possible by a beezer of a turnaround, inspired by Coach Samuel Boadu. The former Medeama SC Head Coach has had the Midas touch effect on the club as they played a gold standard brand of football to embark on an unbeaten run that proved enough to win the ultimate.
Hearts of Oak could only draw 1-1 with Liberty Professionals at home on Sunday, but the result was enough to win them the title following Asante Kotoko’s defeat to Bechem.
Speaking in the aftermath of their game, Vincent Sowah Odotei who joined in the celebrations at the Accra Sports Stadium stadium said “This is where we belong, and we hope that this will be the foundation of greater things to come”.
“We are excited because we went 12 matches unbeaten, we conceded the least number of goals, so we are very excited,” he added.
Vincent Sowah Odotei also expressed profound appreciation to all and sundry who contributed towards this success for the club; singling out the Club’s Board Chairman and Majority Shareholder Togbe Afede for special praise.
“We thank all the supporters. Everybody who made this possible… But Most importantly, Togbe Afede,” he concluded.
