The stakes will certainly be high as Asante Kotoko clash with regional rivals King Faisal in an important Ghana Premier League Match Week 32 fixture.
The game is special for several reasons. Asante Kotoko who host the fixture are still in contention for the League title and know nothing but a win on Saturday will keep them well on track.
King Faisal on the other hand, also need maximum points to boost their survival bid after a long flirtation with relegation during the course of the season.
Kotoko’s title hopes were dealt a dent last Sunday as they lost to bitterest rivals Hearts Of Oak by the odd goal. The 1-0 result handed the advantage to the Phobians, leaving the Porcupine Warriors chasing a 3 point deficit amid an inferior head to head record.
However, all hope isn’t lost yet as they can still catch up and even usurp Hearts of Oak with 3 matches remaining. To ensure that, they must win all remaining games and expect Hearts to falter along the line. For Kotoko, this starts with King Faisal.
The visitors pulled off a great win against Legon Cities on match day 31 at the Ohene Amyeaw Park last Monday to boost their Premier League survival hopes.
Though Legon Cities headed into the fixture off the back of an amazing resurgence in the second round of the League, King Faisal were in buoyant mood ahead of the match, with battle for survival on their mind.
They will take same mentality into the clash with Asante Kotoko and they will be eager to prove themselves worthy of survival.
Currently on 36 points and occupying the 15th position, King Faisal know accumulating minimum 4 points from their last 3 games is a must, and would want to start off with a result against Kotoko.
The game will kick off at 3PM GMT on Saturday July 03 at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.
Clement Kwame Nkuah has been appointed to take charge of this game and he will be assisted on the flanks by Gilbert Adom Mensah and Courage Kuedefia.
Wiseman Ghansah will act as the fourth referee.
The Match will be shown live on FTA Channel Max TV and also on StarTimes Channel 247.
