Premier League club Dreams FC is gunning for an award as the most vibrant Ghanaian club on social media in a latest announcement by the Ghana Football Awards committee.
The Still Believe side will be contesting for the new category introduced in the latest award with fellow Ghana Premier League clubs Inter Allies, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
Other Premier League clubs in the same category are Legon Cities and Accra Great Olympics.
Berry Ladies and Ridge City FC, are the only female clubs contesting for the same award.
Credited with introducing vibrancy and making judicious use of the new media, Dreams FC is seen as the gateway to social media in club administration in Ghana.
The Green and Whites, despite being only 12 years old in Ghana football, maximize the use of social media in their administration, making it the new vehicle for other clubs to jump on.
Following their dominance on the local and international football arena through social media, fans of the top clubs in the country were forced to jump on their teams to emulate the excellent leadership introduced by Dreams FC.
Both Kotoko and Hearts, despite having the largest following in the country, had to take conscious steps of learning the art of being vibrant on social media to market themselves.
The vibrancy and style of management earned them the accolade ‘Model Club’ in the Ghanaian media circles.
Using social media to outdoor players, new partners, and streaming games LIVE on social media have been preserves of Dreams FC which many clubs, including those in the nomination dock, are struggling to emulate.
Despite several clubs learning the trade and rising through the ranks, Dreams FC continues to be the only club in the Ghana Premier League with sophisticated streaming devices for the LIVE stream of the games and other activities.
