Orlando Pirates shot-stopper Richard Ofori and Shenzen FC Winger Frank Acheampong will both miss the Black Stars friendly double-header against Morocco and Ivory Coast.
Acheampong and Ofori who were both named among the 30-man squad for both matches will be absent from the games due to family issues and fitness concerns respectively.
According to the GFA, Acheampong laid his late mother to rest over the weekend and could not make time to join the team for the matches.
“Frank is bereaved. He laid his late mother to eternal glory over the weekend and couldn’t make time to join the team for the matches. But the China-based winger was at the Airport to see the team off as a sign of support” the GFA statement said.
For Richard Ofori, According to the FA, the goalkeeper is now recovering from an injury he sustained in March while with Orlando Pirates game thus will not be available for the Black Stars.
“He [Ofori] sustained a groin injury during his club’s (Orlando Pirates) CAF Confederation Cup game against ES Setif in March this year. The lanky goalkeeper is now recovering from the setback” the Ghana FA statement said.
