The Ghana FA Player Status Committee has ordered Asante Kotoko SC to pay former player Kwame Bonsu an amount of US$30,000 or face a transfer ban.
The midfielder when joining Asante Kotoko in October 2018 had agreement with the club to receive 20% of any onward transfer since he didn’t take sign-on fees.
The midfielder from Asante Kotoko moved to Tunisian giants Espérance de Tunis in July 2019 in deal worth around US$150,000 following his impressive short spell with the Porcupines.
Bonsu 26, was expecting his share from the club but he never received his share of the transaction.
The Players Status Committee after listening to both parties found Asante Kotoko guilty for failing to fulfill contractual agreement with Bonsu.
In the ruling, Asante Kotoko were also fined US$861) for delaying the payment of the agreed percentage share of the transfer fee to the player.
Kwame Bonsu is currently with Egyptian side Ceramica Cleopatra FC after joining them from Espérance in December 2020.
