Ashdod FC left back Montari Kameheni has expressed his delight after helping his side to secure a Europa League place.
A 3-1 away win over Hapoel Petah Tikva on Sunday at the HaMoshava Stadium gave the visiting side a ticket to Europe’s second tier club competition next season.
Ashdod finished thirds in the Israeli Ligat Ha’AL to confirmed their Europa League spot.
Speaking to FootballMadeInGhana.com after the game, the former Dreams FC defender couldn’t hide his delight describing the season as a big success.
“As I told you earlier, the goal was to qualify to Europe and that’s what we just did. I would say it was a successful season.
“I’m very happy and proud of our performance. Playing in Europe is dream of every player. And I can’t wait to make an appearance next season.”
Montari Kamaheni featured in 38 games scoring a goal and had four assist to his name.
He was also named amongst the best three defenders in the just ended season.
