History Meets Present as the two Sekondi giants in Ghana football, Hasaacas and Eleven Wise have been paired to face Western Region’s only premiership sides, Medeama SC and Karela United, following the round of 64 draw held on Thursday.

Sekondi Hasaacas have been paired to face Nzema-based Karela United with a chance to enter the Round of 32 on offer, while Sekondi Eleven Wise will battle it out against Medeama SC.

Ideally, the two Sekondi clubs were supposed to be battling these sides at the top level of Ghana’s football pyramid but a downturn in fortunes has seen Eleven Wise drop to the third tier while Sekondi Hasaacas are struggling in the Division One League.

However, as history clashes with recency, expect these two duels to generate the necessary attention and following for patrons of Western Region football and Ghana football on the whole.

The Round of 64 games will take place from Friday May 28 to onday May 31st. Each participating team will get an appearance fee of GHs 3000 plus MTN credit voucher worth GHs 500.
