Former Hearts of Oak striker Kofi Kordzi has backed the Phobians to clinch the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League title.
The Accra-based giants are currently on a 11-year trophy drought, a situation which has been a cause of major concern for their teeming supporters.
However, after 25 rounds of matches in the ongoing campaign, Hearts and Asante Kotoko are neck and neck on the league table.
Coach Samuel Boadu’s men occupy the second position (43 points)- just two points adrift the Porcupine Warriors in first place.
”Performances have been high this season and one thing about Hearts of Oak players is that they never give up. I’ve been in touch with some of my former teammates and I can tell you that morale is high in camp” the Muaither SC Star told FootballMadeInGhana.
With less ten matches remaining, Kordzi believes Hearts will have the edge over their sworn rivals in the run-in.
“I think it’s very difficult to call but I feel Hearts of Oak will edge Kotoko in the race for the title because they are more aggressive and hungry for success. Kotoko are doing well too but if you look at the challenges Hearts had to go through from the beginning of the season and how they’ve managed to rise above it to this point, I am quite confident they will win the league this season” the Qatari based forward concluded.
Hearts of Oak will travel to face Techiman Eleven Wonders on Friday at the Ohene Ameyaw Park while Kotoko play hosts to WAFA SC on Saturday.
