The accomplished midfielder employed his adept leadership skills to inspire the side to a wonderful 3-1 win over the Miners at the Golden City Park.
Basit scored his side’s first goal to inspire them to the massive win and also provided an assist for their third goal.
The adept midfielder needed only twenty minutes in the game to open the scoring for his side and to register his first goal for the side upon his return.
Chelsea winger Atta Adjei doubled the lead for the home side before the visitors pulled one back around the 70th minute.
Basit teared off around the 80th minute with a brilliant build up, put through Stephen Sarfo who had the AshGold goalkeeper to his mercy but was brought down for a penalty.
Stephen Amankona stepped up and converted expertly to give the home side a 3-1 win after regulation time.
The game marked Basit’s second game for the Blues as he staged an amazing display in his first game of the season in their defeat to Aduana Stars.
Basit who was the club’s skipper has been handed his captaincy back as he plays his inspirational role to get the club back on track.
