PAOK Salonika and Ghana Left Back, Abdul Baba Rahman has expressed immense delight upon breaking his goal duck for the Black Stars.
The left-back opened his Ghana account when the Black Stars eased past Sao Tome & Principé in their final AFCON qualifier last Sunday.
Rahman who made his debut for Ghana in 2013, has always been an attacking full-back with his trademark lunge busting forward runs carving out opportunities for attackers.
However, he was yet to turn from provider to finisher until he found the back of the net on Sunday.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with footballmadeinghana.com, Rahman described the feeling after scoring his first goal as surreal.
“At first I didn’t believe it. I was like oh I’ve scored. It’s a moment I’ve been waiting for. I was like today is a dream come true. I was really excited about it,” – Rahman said.
“I didn’t see myself scoring though. This is Ghana and I’ve been with the Black Stars since 2013 and I’ve had so many assists to my name but I was just waiting for a goal for myself and yesterday it happened so, I’m excited,” – he added.
Rahman has now scored 2 goals in 7 appearances for both club and country in the calendar year of 2021.
