The team at FMIG has put together a team of best performers in the Ghana Premier League during Match Week 9.
Karela United duo Diawusie Taylor and Kwame Boateng lead the attack alongside Great Olympics forward Maxwell Abbey.
From the goalkeeper to the last outfield player, we have taken time to give the various reasons that qualifies the players to make our Team of the Week.
1- Frank Boateng (Medeama) ( GK) – Playing against his former club, Boateng made sure he leave the Len Clay stadium unscathed. Made some wonderful saves to denied Ashantigold. He has settled very well at Medeama since replacing the injured Ofori Antwi
2- Philip Nii Sackey (Great Olympics) – Great display by the youngstar. The Olympics defender had a wonderful game against Inter Allies. Was named the most valuable player of the game following great performance on the day.
3- Toufic Razak ( King Faisal) – Salvaged a point for King Faisal with a rocket free Kick in the second half. Did well to keep cause a lot of problems to Issac Donkor on the left side.
4-Micheal Enu ( Ashantigold )- Enu was very impressive at the back for Berekum Chelsea, made a number of clearance and timely intervention to make sure his side’s keep a clean sheets.
5- Daniel Agyin ( Medeama) – The defender was in top of his game on the day for the Tarkwa based side, kept Hans Kwoffie and Isaac Opoku Agyemang quite in the game. Didn’t put any foot wrong in the game.
6-William Denkyi ( Hearts of Oak) – Playing at unfamiliar role, Denkyi was superb for the Phobians in midfield winning tackles and providing the shield to the back four. The former Liberty player was named man of the match after another sensational performance.
7-Micheal Asamoah ( Ebusua Dwarfs) – Stole the show for Ebusua Dwarfs as the Cape Coast-based side defeated Liberty Professional away from home. Asamoah got his side’s equalizer with a perfect header before playing a role for Moro Sumaila’s winner.
8- Manaf Umar ( Hearts of Oak) – The midfielder continue his good run of form for the Phobians by scoring in the third consecutive games. Manaf caused a lot of problems for Karela United as Hearts of Oak ease to another comfortable win.
9-Diawusie Taylor ( Karela United) – Gave the Chelsea defender’s a good run for their money. Scored a beautiful goal to give his side the lead, got his second through an excellent spot kick.
10-Kwame Boateng ( Karela United) – The former Asante Kotoko striker combined beautifully with Diawusie Taylor to dismantle Berekum Chelsea. Scored twice in the space of 15 minutes to give Karela United a 3-1 lead. Won the MVP after the game.
11-Maxwell Quaye( Great Olympics) – Scored twice from the spot to help Olympics beat Inter Allies away from home. Was a constant threat to the Allies defense throughout the game.
