Midfielder for Ghana’s U-20 Male side, Emmanuel Essiam says playing in the final of the ongoing WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship is a big opportunity for him to showcase his talent.
The Black Satellites of Ghana come up against the Young Stallions of Burkina Faso in the final of the tournament which is taking place in Benin.
Ghana advanced by seeing off Niger via penalty shootout in the semi finals while Burkina Faso easily dispatched Ivory Coast to make it.
Essiam has featured in all three games the Satellites have played so far in the competition and acknowledges that the opportunity to represent in the final is a huge one for him.
“It’s a big opportunity for me to be in the finals where the U-20 plays against Burkina Faso,” the young and intelligent Berekum Chelsea lad revealed.
Essiam is also confident that despite Burkina Faso posing a threat, Ghana seems real determined to win the ultimate.
“Burkina isn’t a bad side but we know we can do it. We know we can do it and we have to do it.
“Our major concern was to qualify but the trophy too means a lot to us and we need to win it and send it to Ghana.
“We’ve seen them play, they’re good but I believe myself and my colleagues can beat them,” Essiam concluded.
