Black Satellites captain Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has declared as blatant falsehood reports making rounds that he has been involved in a spat with management of the team.
Local media reports shortly before and in the aftermath of Ghana’s clash with Niger at the ongoing WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship said Afriyie Barnieh had been involved in a row between him and management.
The reports went further to disclose that, the after effect of this occurrence was Afriyie being relegated to the bench for the encounter and his subsequent non-involvement in the game.
However the player has responded to such claims stating that they are absolutely not true.
In an exclusive interview with FMIG, Afriyie Barnieh said the decision to drop him from the starting eleven was purely tactical and he was even briefed by the Coaches before the game.
“It’s not true. If you want to verify, call the leader of delegation and ask him. Nothing has happened between me and management. It was a tactical decision from the coaches. We actually discussed that before the game,” Afriyie told FootballMadeInGhana.com
Ghana have qualified to the finals where they face Burkina Faso on Saturday.
Afriyie is expected to feature for the Black Satellites should he be deemed suitable as per the Coaches tactics
