Legon Cities continued their disappointing start to the 2020/2021 Ghana Premeir League season by drawing 0-0 against Medeama SC at home on Friday night.
In a match that saw Asamoah Gyan finally make his debut for the club, both sides failed to find the back of the net and at the end settled for a point at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The game started slowly with both sides trying to find their rhythm in the early stages.
Medeama SC had the first chance of the game in the 26th minute through Eric Kwakwa, but the midfielder was denied by the woodwork.
Legon Cities reacted quickly with Raphael Ocloo coming close but a poor final touch meant the ball went for a goal kick.
Nathaniel Akwa also tried his luck from a free kick on the 40th minute, but Eric Ofori Antwi did well to save the danger.
None of the side was able to get the breakthrough as the referee whistled for the end of the first half.
There wasn’t much action in the second half has both side’s kept it tight at the back.
Asamoah Gyan was introduced in the 71st minute for Raphael Ocloo as Cities pushed for the breakthrough.
Cities nearly got the breakthrough on the 82nd minute after Gyan nicely laid Cephaz Doku in the panalty box, but Jonah Attuquaye could bury tge final pass.
The game ended 0-0 as both side continue their winless run in the 2020/2021 season.
