Asante Kotoko will be denied the services of two key players for their 2020-21 Ghana Premier League opening game against Techiman Eleven Wonders.
Goalkeeper Razak Abalora and Young right back Christopher Nettey will be missing in action when the Porcupine Warriors take to the field versus their opponents on November 14.
The aforementioned duo, have been invited to the national team as Ghana prepares to face Sudan in an AFCON 2021 qualifier on Thursday November 12 at the Cape Coast stadium.
The senior national side will later leave the country for the corresponding fixture in Sudan days later, therefore rendering the two players unavailable for their club side.
It is unlikely their absence will be a huge loss for Kotoko as they have beefed up their setup for the season ahead. In the absence of Nettey, Samuel Frimpong should slot in nicely while Felix Annan and Kwame Baah will be competing for a starting berth in the goalkeeping department with Abalora absent.
It remains to be seen how Kotoko Head Coach Maxwell Konadu handles the situation.
