Columbus Crew defender Harrison Afful has returned to the Black Stars squad ahead of Ghana’s double header African Cup Nations qualifiers against Sudan in November.
The Columbus Crew defender is making a return to the team since missing out of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt due to broken Jaw.
Afful was named in Ghana’s squad against South Africa and Sao Tome in November last year but was ruled again due to injury.
He was missing in the squad that played Mali and Qatar in an international friendlies earlier this month.
The versatile defender will finally be making his return to the team after C K Akonnor handed him a call up for Ghana’s game against Sudan.
Coach C.K Akonnor is seeking to continue with the teams flying start to the qualifiers following victories against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe in November 2019.
Ghana will on Thursday, November 12, 2020 take on the North Africans in the first of a double header tie at the Cape Coast stadium, before travelling to Khartoum, five days later for the reverse fixture.
Harrison Afful will be looking to make his 85th cap for the senior national team since his debut in 2008.
