A delegation from the Ghana Football Association is set to hit Offinso, a suburb of the Ashanti Region to mourn with families 8 juvenile footballers who perished in a gory accident on Saturday.
The football family was hit with the sad news of the death of the juvenile footballers between the ages of 12 and 15 in the accident on the Kumasi-Offinso road.
The accident occured on the Offin River on Saturday evening.
8 players have been confirmed dead so far. (6 died at the spot and 2 have died at the hospital)
According to reports, the club, Africa Vision Soccer Academy came to Afrancho to do the registration for the District Juvenile League and we’re returning to Offinso.
Following the news, the president of the Ghana Football Association Kurt E.S. Okraku has disclosed that a delegation from the association will be visiting the families of the deceased and also visit the remaining victims of the brutal accident.
“I have received with a heavy heart the death of 8 juvenile players (African Vision FC) today in Offinso in the Ashanti Region.
“In the morning, an FA contingent made up of Chairman Osei Tutu (Kotoro), Exco members – Fred Achie and Madam Habiba Attah and National Juvenile Committee member Chairman Kamarat will visit the injured and console bereaved families,” Kurt Okraku indicated.
“In these trying times, we stand shoulder to shoulder with all the bereaved families, those injured and and those going through psychological stress… It is well…Lets all be supportive,” he added.
