Former Hearts of Oak striker, Gilbert Fiamenyo says he left the Phobians due to monetary issues and not about his performance.
Fiamenyo joined the Accra based club from Heart of Lions with high expectations but the bulky attacker failed to leave up to the billing.
He spent three seasons with the Rainbow club between 2012 and 2015, before leaving for Kenya to join AC Leopards
In an interview with Max FM, Fiamenyo downplayed assertions that he left the club due to his poor run of form.
“I left because of monetary issues, I sat with the board and we tried to negotiate but it did not go as planned so I had to leave the club, I would have loved to stay but we couldn’t negotiate” he said.
The 28-year old has also played for Ebusua Dwarfs, AFC Leopard in Kenya and Libyan club Al-Nasr Benghazi.
