Owners and Financial backers of Juvenile Football clubs in Ghana will no longer pay officiating fees when the new football season commences, the Ghana FA President, Kurt E.S. Okraku has revealed.
The good news has been delivered to the several juvenile football clubs, is as a result of the Ghana FA giving birth to an initiative to unearth young refereeing talents.
The initiative dubbed, “Catch Them Young Referee Policy” was officially launched on Tuesday during a short ceremony by the Ghana FA.
The Catch Them Young Policy is designed to identify, educate and train young talents both male and female between the ages of 13-16 to officiate juvenile matches within their regions.
These young referees will then take charge of all juvenile matches hence eliminating the cost factor involved in using of licensed referees who will eventually charge after rendering their services.
The issue of officiating fees has often been a burden to the local clubs especially those at the amateur and juvenile level.
This development will certainly come as refreshing news and serve as a massive boost to the juvenile sector.
The Ghana FA President Kurt.E.S Okraku disclosed this during the official launch of the Catch Them Young Policy.
