The Ghana Football Association has officially launched the ‘Catch Them Young’ Refereeing Policy on Tuesday at their secretariat in Accra.
GFA President Kurt E.S. Okraku, Executive Council members, Referees Committee members, retired referees and some football officials were present at event.
The policy was one of the reforms of the Kurt E S Okraku ‘Game Changing’ manifesto which was unveiled on 24th September, 2019 at the Ghana Exim Bank Auditorium in Accra.
The country’s football governing body will identify, nurture and train youngsters up to the SHS level to officiate juvenile matches withing the localities.
The aim is to ensure that Ghanaian officials protect the integrity of the game by obeying fully all the provisions of the regulations on the Organization of Refereeing in Fifa Member Associations.

With this policy, Ghana’s dream of producing young and hardworking referees to climb high the FIFA ladder and officiate at major tournaments can be realised.
