Executive Council Member of the Ghana Football Association, Frederick Acheampong has confirmed that the finance committee of the body has been tasked to draw up modalities of the sharing of the money from FIFA’s Covid-19 Relief Package.
The monies from FIFA is to help cushion member associations against the various problems the COVID-19 pandemic has brought.
The Ghana FA is expected to get a total of $1.5 million from this intervention and Fred Acheampong has now revealed how the country’s football governing body plans to disburse the amount.
In an interview with Kumasi based Oyerepa FM, Fred Acheampong said “FIFA will pay $500,000 to us this July 2020 and another $500,000 in January 2021 but the $500,000 for women Football is also expected this July 2020”.
“The Finance Committee has been tasked to come out with modalities of sharing this money per FIFA’S conditions and those who are eligible to benefit.
“This relief fund includes National Teams as well as Clubs ,referees, coaches, Juvenile Football,” he concluded.
