Former Asante Kotoko coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor has agreed to waive off part of his outstanding debt owed by the club.
The 46 year old tactician is still demanding his severance package 11 months after he was shockingly relieved of his first team duties.
The now Black Stars head coach was owed GH₵364,ooo but has agreed to accept GH₵180,ooo after fruitful talks.
FootballMadeInGhana understands that initially, the club negotiated to the tune of GH₵170,ooo which Akonnor blatantly refused.
Before Alhaji Abu Lamin, a member of Asante Kotoko’s new board of directors stepped in to renegotiate and convince Akonnor to accept just an addition of GH₵10,ooo.
During his short stint with the Kumasi based giants, Akonnor guided the Porcupine Warriors to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup just two months after his appointment and won the NC Special Competition Tier Two to qualify for this season’s CAF Champions League.
