Head coach of Medeama Sporting Club, Samuel Boadu has lamented the impact of the Coronavirus-enforced break on his side’s title aspirations this season.
The 2019/20 Ghana Premier League campaign has been suspended indefinitely due to the outbreak of the deadly virus which has so far infected nearly 900,000 people, persons worldwide, killing over 40,000.
The Tarkwa based outfit were on a run of four consecutive games without defeat, recording 3 wins and a draw before the season was halted.
Speaking in an exclusive interview, Samuel Boadu opened up on the impact the Coronavirus pandemic has had on his plans and the league as a whole.
“Yes the break is affecting us but not just Medeama but all the clubs because management have to organize themselves and find money to pay the players whilst they are home with nothing going on. Also as a coach, it affects my plans because we were gearing for a title challenge and suddenly this happens”
The Mauve and Yellows were two points ahead atop the league table before they were docked six points for fielding an unqualified player in a clash with Great Olympics.
Medeama have now fallen down to sixth on the log with 24 points pending an appeal to reverse GFA Disciplinary Committee’s decision.
