In view of the tussle between the Ashanti Sports federation and the National Sports Authority that has delayed the Boy’s soccer competition, management has decided that the competition be postponed to early next term (next year) It is the hope of management that the problem would be solved amicably within this period.
The National Sports Authority on March 2019, came out with new charges of GH¢20,000 per day with a refundable deposit of GH¢10,000 before any Sports event organized by the Ghana Education Services can have access to any Stadia owned by the Government of Ghana.
This has become a headache for the Ashanti Region School Sports Federation to afford for their annual Inter-School Boys Soccer Competition which was formerly dubbed ‘Milo games’ to hire the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium for the event.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has taken the responsibility to solve the problem amicably to help the various regions who use the National Sports Authority stadium for their Sports events organized by GES.
This is not the matter of only the Ashanti Region but Ghana as a whole.
The issue is now handle by National Coordinator of P.E programs, Mr. Emmanuel Dormenya and the Acting Deputy Coordinator of P.E programs, Mr. Fred Asamoah Danquah.
