The President of the defunct Normalization Committee, Dr Kofi Amoah has agreed to facilitate the return of the $100,000 payment he made to a lawyer who he claims masterminded the payment of a $1m debt owed the football association by telecommunication giants Globacom.
Dr Amoah’s integrity has been a subject of debate after news broke that Globacom has paid $1 million to the astute businessman to be paid to the GFA, and yet the association only received 900,000.
He has duly responded with a statement explaining his side of the story and also confirmed he has ordered the lawyer he hired for the arbitration process to return the money to the FA.
”I have directed Lawyer Frank Davies to return the $100,000 paid to him for his appreciable service to the President of the GFA and submit his invoice for same, which he has done” the statement said.
