Kwabena Owusu came off the bench to register a brace as the Black Meteors progressed to the semi-finals of the Africa U23 Cup of Nations following a 2-0 win over Mali.

Kwame Baah ( 7/10) – Great game by the Kumasi Asante Kotoko goalkeeper. Produced two great saves to denied the Malians in the first half. Made some decent saves in the second half as well.
Kingsley Fobi ( 7/10)- Struggled in the first half as the Malians took control of the game. Improved in the second half and assisted Kwabena Owusu’s opened with a nice cross from the right side.
Edward sarpong ( 6/10) – Decent game from the left back. Looked solid defensively, very poor when going on the attack. He will still need to improve on his performance.
Zakaria Fuseini ( 7 /10) – Looked flustered at the beginning as the Malian took control of the game. Improved his performance in the second half and made sure his side finished the game with a clean sheet.
Habib Mohammed ( 7/10) – Won almost all the aerial duels against his opponent. Developed a good understanding with his defensive partner. Started the move which resulted in Ghana’s second goal.
Michael Agberpkornu ( 7/10) – Another great game by the Dream FC player. Kept it tight in the middle of the pitch. Won almost all his tackles in midfield.
Ruben polley ( 5/10)- Not a debut to remember. The youngester struggled to find his feat in the game. Looked lost in the game. Was susbtituted for Kwabena Owusu after the break.
Emmanuel lomotey ( 7/10)- Another masterclass performance by Lomotey. Looked slow in the first but improved in the second half and won the midfield battle against Ibrahima Kone and Doumbia.
Samuel obeng gyabaa ( 7/10) – Was a constant threat to the Mali defense. Very quick when the ball is at his feet. Worked tirelessly for the team.
Yaw yeboah (c) ( 6’/10) – Another disappointing performances by the skipper, struggled to find his feet in the game. Was subbed to Frank Arhin later in the second half.
Evans Mensah ( 6/10)- Failed replicate the performance he put up in the first game. Lost the ball too easy. Failed to create any chance for the attackers.
Substitute
Kwabena Owusu ( 8/10) – Added more bite to the Ghana attack. His movement infront caused a lot of problems to the Malian defense. Scored brace to secured Ghana’s qualification.
Frank Arhin ( 6/10) – Came in for the ineffective Yaw Yeboah. Added fresh Energy to the team as they went all out in search of the opener.
