The tall list of injuries in the Black Stars camp have forced Coach Kwasi Appiah to hand a late call up to Rizespor midfielder Joseph Attamah Larweh.
His call up came just a day before the Black Stars’ clash with the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
Larweh joined the team at about 14:00 GMT at the team’s camping base at the Elmina Beach Resort in Cape Coast and will hold training with the side this evening.
The call up of the Rizespor midfielder has become necessary following the injury of Real Valladolid defender Salisu Mohammed who pulled out of the side two days ago.
The Black Stars have been hit with massive withdrawals due to injuries while Antwi Adjei has also pulled out due to issues with his documentation.
The SC Paderborn 07 winger could not secure his Ghanaian passport to enable him join the team, putting on hold his debut appearance in the team.
Harrison Afful, Mubarak Wakaso and Salisu Mohammed have all pulled out of the squad due to injuries.
Ghana will be playing the Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Thursday at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in the opening group game of the 2021 AFCON Qualifier.
