The sorry state of the field of play at Cape Coast Stadium is a cause for major concern ahead of upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
The 15,000 capacity edifice is set to host Ghana’s opening Group C game against South Africa on 14th November.
The Lack of permanent groundsman has left the playing surface in a deplorable condition with the grass now brown.
As it stands, the turf cannot only impact the quality of play but it can also pose a risk of serious injury to the players.
However, with just nine days to the match against Bafana Bafana, officials assured a GFA delegation sent to inspect facility that work is underway to get the pitch ready in time for the match.
Meanwhile Coach Kwesi Appiah has named his 23-man squad for the clash.
The Black Stars are expected to begin training in Cape Coast from Monday 11 November 2019 with the team expected to hold one training session a day.
